About the CPD

The Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) of Ethiopia has launched a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to continually develop the competency of health professionals through standardized in-service training. The primary goal of the CPD program is ensuring quality health service by competent health professionals and linking the continuing education unit (CEU) with license renewal requirements. ABH is a registered CPD provider in Ethiopia. The training has been given to health care providers based on the need for the healthcare system which is assessed by top-down and bottom-up approaches are used. ABH has a dedicated staff and panel of experts in various disciplines who are engaged in various capacity building, needs assessment, monitoring, and evaluation activities. While the permanent staff serves as the operational arm of the organization, its panel of experts in education, biostatics, public health, epidemiology, nutrition, project development, monitoring, and evaluation offers it a unique pool of multidisciplinary teams to respond to the needs of its current and potential stakeholders. Since its establishment in Ethiopia in 2007 primarily as a training and research institution, ABH has expanded its scope of work to include the development and organization of tailor-made and need-based training programs.

More about CPD

Engaging in CPD activities ensures that both academic and practical qualifications do not become outdated or obsolete, and allows for individuals to continually ‘up skill’ or ‘re-skill’ themselves regardless of their occupation, age or educational level. Continuing Professional Development is an ongoing process of frequently improving skills and competencies to enhance workplace performance and future career prospects.   More about CPD  >>
